Halloween at West Green, Hook (22nd – 31st October)
Their fantastically lit Halloween walk is inspired by folk legends and tells a distinct story in each section of the garden. Discover the amazing ‘Day of the Dead’ imagery in the walled gardens, the troll faces beneath the five bridges, and the eerie fairies next to the follies.
Pumpkin Picking at Crockford Bridge Farm, Surrey (22nd – 30th October 2022)
Have you got your pumpkin yet? Thousands of different sized pumpkins are ready to be carved. They also grow a variety of the spooky white ‘Ghost’ pumpkin!
RHS Garden Wisley, Woking (22nd – 30th October 2022)
Is your child a budding scientist? Delve into the world of deadly plants and bugs at RHS Garden, Wisley. Discover how clever creepy-crawlies and super-smart plants fight back! Meet all kinds of critters, big and small, find out about wild and wacky plants and get stuck in with craft and planting workshops, storytelling, a family garden trail and more!
London Bus Museum Transportfest, Brooklands Museum (23rd October 2022)
Enjoy a day out at the London Bus Museum’s Transportfest. This event features extensive bus displays, as well as wonderful examples of other commercial transport such as taxis, military and emergency vehicles. There will be heritage bus trips, a collectors’ market, live music and children’s attractions. There is something for the whole family to enjoy!
Afternoon Tea and Trail at Cantley House, Wokingham (24th – 28th October 2022)
Set amongst acres of scenic Berkshire countryside, Cantley House is an increasingly popular venue for one of the most English of traditions, afternoon tea. This Halloween, they are putting an eerie twist on their traditional afternoon tea, where you can feast on a Halloween themed afternoon tea in their spooky 17th century converted barn followed by a Halloween trail for all of the family. What better way to enjoy Halloween in style?
The National Gallery, London (26th – 27th October 2022)
This workshop provides ‘hands on’ fun, where children can experiment with words and pictures to create a poem out of a painting.
Halloween Drawalong, Southhill Park, Bracknell (26th October 2022)
Join prize-winning illustrator and author Nick Sharratt for a special Halloween themed ‘drawalong’. He has worked with numerous authors, including Julia Donaldson and most notably Jacqueline Wilson, for whom he illustrated more than fifty novels. His illustrations have also been animated for the hugely popular BBC children’s drama series, The Story of Tracy Beaker. During the workshop, young fans will have the opportunity to draw along as he sketches characters from a selection of his fun-filled picture books.
The Addams Family Musical, Ascot (28th – 30th October)
Take a trip to the theatre this Halloween. The Addams Familyhave arrived in Ascot, performing at the BritVic Theatre. It’s an amazingly ‘kooky, spooky, and altogether ooky’ show.
Braniac Astronaut Academy, Camberley (28th – 29th October 2022)
Calling all budding Astronauts! Strap on your safety goggles as the hit science show’s astronauts and science boffins prepare to crash-land in The Square and take you on an out of this world adventure! Develop your child’s team working skills as they learn how to build and launch their own space rocket!
Windsor Royal Station (29th October 2022)
Get your pumpkins at the ready! Their Pumpkin Party is back. With a party and spooktacular pumpkin carving competition, this family Halloween experience is not to be missed! Tickets are free, however make sure to book your carving slot in advance to avoid disappointment.
Godstone Farm, Surrey (events throughout October)
Head to Godstone farm for some spook-tacular Halloween fun during the half term! Join Griswalda the witch for a wand lesson at the Tickle Treat Academy, or gather clues to complete the mysterious detective trail. The farm also has a variety of play areas, over 500 animals and pumpkin carving sessions, so you are sure to have a day filled full of spooky surprises!
Hampton Court Palace, Richmond upon Thames (22nd – 30th October)
If you’re brave enough…explore Henry VIII’s notoriously haunted palace at the spookiest time of the year. Lose yourself in atmospheric projections and creepy sound effects as Kings and Queens come to life. If this is too spooky for the little ones, there is always the Magic Garden to explore! Come face to face with mysterious mythical beasts, storm the battlements, besiege the towers and explore the secret grotto in this magical children’s playground.
